Capt. Radhika Menon is the first female captain of the Indian Merchant Navy who also leads the oil products tanker Suvarna Swarajya. In 2016, Radhika also became the first woman to receive the IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea. She is well known for her rescue operation which she conducted successfully in June 2015 saving seven fishermen who were trapped for a week in a boat.
Dr. C.P. Unnikrishnan, an authority on Natyasasthra is the Techinical Director of SSD. Born in 1948, completed with first Rank, Honours & distinction, his Graduation and Post Graduation (advanced research) in Animal Physiology from the Wilson College, University of Bombay following which he completed his B.Ed (1981) and M.Ed (1984) degrees courses with First Class, from the Annamalai University. Later he obtained his Diplomas with Distinction in Vedanta from The CCMT, Bombay and in Fine Arts from the ICS, Madras and PhD in Kathakali from Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University He is the script writer & Choreographer.
